IRELAND – A HISTORY IN SONG is a new and exciting one-man show by Larry Kirwan that combines his 25 years experience leading Black 47 with his parallel careers as playwright, author, journalist and radio host. Through a mixture of story-telling, acting, and singing Kirwan brings Irish history alive with emphasis on The Great Hunger of 1847, Emigration to America, The Celtic Revival, 1916 Uprising, and the recent “Troubles.” You’ll be introduced to and get to the heart of James Connolly, Michael Collins, Countess Markievicz, James Joyce, WB Yeats, Bobby Sands & Bernadette Devlin McAliskey among others.

Born in the days before alternative was a marketing term, McCarthyizm soon became a band known for blending 60’s garage and 80’s underground rock with strong melodies and intelligent lyrics. Add some raucous rhythm and a tasty measure of Celtic flavoring and you’ve got a cocktail with a punch that delivers one helluva good time, all the time.

   Padraig Stevens was born in Sligo, Ireland in November 1946. He has been involved in music-making all his life both as a performer and a songwriter. Padraig lives in Tuam.

     His songs have been recorded and performed by many..most notably by The Saw Doctors with whom he has been associated since their inception in Tuam, and by Christy Moore

    Noted for his work with The Saw Doctors with whom he has recorded and toured extensively, he began performing live early in 2017 with former bandmate, Leo Moran. Padraig Stevens has found a new outlet for his songs and storytelling. New songs are being introduced to a new audience and there are plans for recording an album of this new material.

Born in the rustbelt Irish American neighborhood of South Buffalo, NY in 2010, Crikwater have become the premier Irish American Traditional Folk Band in Western New York.  Boasting four multi-instrumentalists and an energetic live show, The pub-scene veterans offer up a mix of fiery fiddle tunes, rowdy pub sing-a-longs, elegant ballads & original songs, and their music conjures scenes of gritty smoke filled Irish pubs, whiskey, pints of stout, and good craic.

Hailing from the bonnie shores of Loch Ontario and firmly dedicated to preserving Scottish and Irish heritage through song Tom Keefer delivers music from his ancestors James Reid of Glasgow, Scotland and Clifford Foley from Irish South Buffalo, NY. Tom has opened for international acts the Red Hot Chili Pipers, Enter The Haggis and the National Dance Company of Ireland as well as headlining and been a main stage performer at many Celtic festivals. Having played all over New York, in Pennsylvania, Virginia and Canada!

Celtic Spirit Pipe Band

The Celtic Spirit Pipe Band was formed in 1998, and in little over a decade the band has climbed to the top of the piping scene in Western New York. Supported by a large following, Celtic Spirit plays traditional Celtic music but is most famous for its unique arrangements and the mixing of the keyboard, fiddle, flute, guitar, pipes, and drums together. To date, the Celtic Spirit Pipe Band has produced a DVD and four CD’s, with a fifth on the way.
